There never seams to be enough hours in the day to do what needs to be done. With the holidays coming, this is more apparent then ever. So, here are some time saving tips for the busy part of you.
One of the things I dread most is getting prepped for making dinner. Although I love to cook, when I'm in a hurry or pressed for time, cutting and slicking to get things prepped seems to be tedious. So, here's what I do.
I pick a day out of the week and set aside atleast an hour. Then I take that time to cut, slice, dice and prepare any produce that I will be cooking.
This doesn't just apply to onions, bell peppers and garlic. I cut the carrots, zuccini, tomatoes, everything. Most of these items can be frozen and set aside until you're ready for them. By doing this mini prep, you've saved yourself some time in the kitchen for later in the week.
Now, if you're precutting lettuce, be sure to place it in a ziploc bag with a paper towel so that it will stay fresh. Place the bag in the fridge not the freezer. You will be able to save yourself a few minutes a day.
